To
Whom it May Concern:
My
name is Sarah E. Williams and I am a graduate of Indiana University of
Pennsylvania in music education. My degree in music education certifies me to
teach grades K-12 and in every possible type of music instruction. These types
include instrumental, chorus, and general music. I would sincerely appreciate
being considered for a position in the music education field.
Throughout all of my schooling I have been considered an over-achiever by my
teachers and my peers. I will go above and beyond the call of duty to do the
best my ability will allow. One of my strongest skills is my organization. I go
out of my way to make sure everything is in order, so everything will move
smoothly.
Music
has always been a major part of my life. My first performance was singing in
church at the age of three. I started piano lessons when I was seven years old
and trumpet when I was nine. Throughout high school and college, I took every
opportunity to make music that I could; whether at school or in the community. I
have learned to play most of the other instruments to at least a sixth grade
level. I took a woodwind repair course offered by one of the music professors at
IUP even though it was not required.
I
have always wanted to teach. When I was young, I always begged and pleaded with
my friends to play school. There is something about filling young minds with the
knowledge that I have acquired over the years, enriching their lives similar to
the way my teachers enriched my life. There is a quote that sums up teaching for
me: “If you have knowledge, let others light their candles by it."
Thank
you for considering me for a position in the music education field. My love for
teaching and music will make me an excellent candidate for any music education
related job. I am excited to start working and I am hoping to get the chance
soon.
Sincerely,
Sarah E. Williams
